The company plants about 1,150ha of maize and soybeans every year, of which 100ha is irrigated by center pivot.
The majority of the maize produced each year is channeled into the company's own feed mill which produces feed for its large commercial piggery. At this stage the Soya Bean crop is sold.
The company supports sustainable farming methods and in turn uses manure and compost produced from the piggery to fertilize the arable lands.
The Estate has invested in a John Deere high rise sprayer which will better facilitate a more efficient dispersement of herbicides and liquid fertiliser for the maize crop.
In addition, the company practices minimum tillage and follows a strict crop rotation between maize and soybeans. The company has invested in precision farming technology to ensure efficient use of inputs such as fertilizer and lime.
